Although many cities and companies are actively deploying them, problems such as "difficulty charging" and "no charging piles" still plague a large number of new energy vehicle owners and potential consumers.

Why is it so difficult to charge a battery? Why are charging piles always in line? Where are all the charging piles that can be used? What is the reason that prevents the popularity of charging piles?

The development speed of new energy vehicles in the past two years is obvious to all. New energy vehicles have now become one of the leading industries in my country and the world. In 2017, the production and sales volume of new energy in my country reached 794,000 and 777,000 respectively, and the cumulative inventory reached 1.8 million, accounting for more than 50% of the global market share, ranking first in the world for three consecutive years.

At the same time, charging facilities have also become the biggest shortcoming restricting the rapid advancement of new energy vehicles. In the past two years, the relative lag of infrastructure facilities such as charging piles has become increasingly prominent. Although the number of charging piles is increasing rapidly, it cannot be ignored that the growth scale of new energy vehicles is still significantly higher than that of charging piles, which means that the gap between the piles is still expanding.

According to the "Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Development Guide (2015-2020)", it is estimated that the number of electric vehicles in my country will exceed 5 million by 2020. The demand for supporting charging infrastructure has also increased. From 2015 to 2020, more than 12,000 centralized charging stations and more than 4.8 million distributed charging piles need to be added to meet the country's 5 million electric vehicle charging needs by then.

According to the "Electric Vehicle Charging Pile Industry Development Prospect Forecast and Investment Strategic Planning Analysis Report" released by the Foresight Industry Research Institute, as of the end of 2017, a total of 219,900 public charging piles and 231,800 private charging piles had been built across the country. At present, the ratio of electric vehicles to piles in my country is only 3.8:1, and the overall scale of charging piles lags behind. In terms of the current number of charging piles, in order to reach the goal of 4.8 million charging piles in 2020, the number of charging piles installed from 2018 to 2020 will increase explosively.

New energy vehicles, public charging piles and vehicle pile ratio map

In addition, according to the survey, when users buy electric vehicles, whether the charging piles are complete, whether charging is convenient enough, and whether it is feasible to install charging piles by themselves have become important factors that users worry about when buying electric vehicles. Therefore, we believe that the mature development of the charging pile industry is the basis for the further development of new energy vehicles. The further maturity of new energy vehicles will also promote the development of the charging pile industry. The two promote each other, complement each other and are inseparable.

At present, the charging pile industry is still immature. In the next few years, both business models and product technologies will usher in a big leap and even change. Therefore, it is important to grasp the changing trend of the charging pile industry in advance:

   1. The intelligence of charging piles needs to be further improved

Driven by new technologies such as big data, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and virtual assistants, charging piles are becoming more intelligent. Currently, users who use mobile phones for charging device locations account for the majority of charging users. Charging customers can also access the system and pay for charging through the mobile client. Charging pile owners can realize remote monitoring of charging equipment through mobile phones to ensure the normal operation of charging services. In addition, after the pile is paired with the mobile phone, the pile owner can charge the mobile phone remotely, saving charging costs. These mobile phone applications have fully tapped the functions of charging piles, and have greatly improved the efficiency of charging piles.

2, the payment scene needs to be richer and more convenient

The convenience of payment is crucial to the development of the charging pile industry. At present, there are still many problems in the payment scenarios of the charging pile industry: 1. Many charging piles can only support a single card type, which easily brings the trouble of requiring multiple payment terminals to users. 2. It is troublesome to upgrade the payment terminal. 3. The operating status of the payment terminal is difficult to understand, etc.

Therefore, the charging piles in the public environment in the future need to support a wider variety of payment methods, such as WeChat, Alipay, City Card, UnionPay, etc. Different payment methods are used to meet the requirements of different consumer groups. In addition, it is also necessary to develop more types of charging value-added service businesses, extending from charging services to time-sharing leasing, electric vehicle after-sales service, and cooperation with shopping malls and supermarket merchants.

3, V2G will become an inevitable trend

V2G is the abbreviation of Vehicle-to-Grid. Its core idea lies in the interaction between electric vehicles and the power grid. Using V2G technology can realize two-way communication and two-way energy flow between electric vehicles and the power grid, and can effectively manage the charging and discharging process of electric vehicles. , To minimize the impact of electric vehicle load on the grid, and at the same time make full use of electric vehicle battery resources to increase the flexibility and stability of grid energy management. That is to say, when the grid load is too high, the electric vehicle energy storage is used to feed the grid; and when the grid load is low, it is used to store the excess power generation of the grid to avoid waste. Therefore, V2G technology is a high-end comprehensive application integrating power electronics technology, communication technology, dispatch and metering technology, demand-side management, etc. The realization of V2G technology will enable the development of power grid technology in a more intelligent direction.

At a time when the "Matthew effect" in the new energy vehicle market is becoming more and more obvious, An Qingheng, director of the China Automotive Industry Advisory Committee, believes that charging pile companies should also work together with car companies. "This is like'chicken eggs or chicken eggs'. The two are complementary issues. Only when cars get better and better can the charging pile industry develop healthily."
