2. The dressing characteristics of outdoor sportswear

The main characteristics of outdoor sportswear include warmth retention, moisture permeability, waterproofing, breathability, quick drying, and anti-static properties. Here, I will focus on discussing the characteristic of warmth retention.

Warmth retention: Although warmth retention is closely related to fabric thickness, outdoor sports do not allow clothing to be too heavy, so it is necessary to keep warm and lightweight to meet the special requirements of outdoor sports clothing. I think thermal insulation can be achieved by adding insulation materials and heating fabrics. It's not always the thick fabric that keeps you warm. For example, our sports down jackets and assault jackets will have a piece of insulation fabric spliced on the back.

This is actually not a high-tech technology, but an imported insulation material. Previously, Columbia Company was the first to develop this type of fabric for outdoor sports, and their reflective silver has applied for a patent. Reflective silver is a material independently developed by them, so an additional hang tag will be hung to indicate this patented technology. Reflective silver, a silver fabric, is beneficial for keeping warm through radiation, similar to the principle of a warm kettle, in order to achieve the warmth retention of clothing. This fabric was also used in the outdoor sportswear I participated in designing, but we used imported materials that were not independently developed, so we did not have special markings on the hang tags. Reflective silver refers to the central silver part of the clothing in the picture, and the splicing shape can be freely designed. On the surface layer, we have added a mesh to provide cushioning and enhance fashion and wear resistance. If it is a complete heating coating, it will lead to poor breathability, so we only made this design point in a local area.
